TRACTOR FIRE

January 18, 2010 - 11:20 Fire & EMS units were dispatched to a reported tractor fire at 6620 McGavock Creek Road off Cleburne Blvd. (Route 100) near NRV Airport. Brush 2 arrived on scene at 11:29 and Lieutenant 2 established command. There was a tractor about a mile off the road in a field that had been on fire but mostly extinguished by owner. Tanker 2 arrived on scene at 11:34 and was commanded to stage at the end of gravel road. Support 2 was also on scene at 11:34 to assist. Brush 2 and Support 2 ended up getting stuck so command requested a 4 wheel brush truck from Newbern FD. Firefighters carried extinguishers to the scene and finished extinguishing the fire. Lieutenant 2 terminated command at 12:54 and all fire units returned to service.
